A Clinical Social Worker provides psychological treatment for children, adolescents and adults in either individual, group,or family settings. Clinical Social Workers are masters level clinicians.All Clinical Social Workers at CFCG are trained in diagnostic evaluation and psychotherapy.
Peter Gross, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Mr. Gross received his undergraduate degree in psychology from George Mason University in 1980 and his Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1990. Mr. Gross has been providing mental health services for thirty four years. He is responsible for the Social Work Internship Program with George Mason University.
Mr. Gross works with children,adolescents,and adults.He provides the following clinical services : Individual psychotherapy; play therapy; group psychotherapy; and family psychotherapy.
Special interests include grief and trauma counseling; couples counseling; hypnosis/hypnotherapy for stress management; and mindfulness based psychotherapy.
Available Monday through Thursday (morning,afternoon, and evening) and Saturday (morning and afternoon).

Mikhel Wirtanen, MSW
Clinical Social Worker in Residence
Mikhel began her career five years ago, working as a crisis counselor at CrisisLink suicide prevention hotline. Since then, she has worked as a mental health counselor in a crisis stabilization unit, and in various residential treatment centers throughout Northern Virginia. She received her Master of Social Work from George Mason University in 2017. During treatment, Mikhel focuses on providing a collaborative, safe and non-judgmental environment where clients can be their authentic selves.
