A psychiatrist is a physician who specializes in psychiatry and is certified in treating mental disorders. All psychiatrists at CFCG are trained in diagnostic evaluation and in psychotherapy. As part of their evaluation of the patient, psychiatrists may prescribe psychiatric medication, conduct physical examinations, and order laboratory tests


David Clayton, MD

CHILD, ADOLESCENT, ADULT PSYCHIATRY

Dr. Clayton received his undergraduate training in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He worked for more than ten years in inpatient psychiatry for the county of Santa Clara, California. He attended medical school at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, graduating in 1997. After doing his internship in Internal Medicine in Saint Louis, he completed both a Residency in Adult Psychiatry and a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego. He moved to Northern Virginia in 2002.

Dr. Clayton is currently doing only outpatient care. Dr. Clayton provides diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy, and psychopharmacology services for children, adolescents, and adults. He does not work with geriatric patients. He has special experience and interest in working with patients with Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder, mood and anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and elimination disorders. He is available Monday through Friday mornings, afternoons, and some evenings.

Dr. Clayton refers to Fairfax Hospital, Dominion Hospital and Children’s Hospital National Medical Center for patients who are in need of inpatient treatment. He refers to both the Keller Center and to Dominion Hospital’s Day Treatment Programs for patients in need of partial hospitalization or day treatment.

Oxana Jourkiv, M.D.

Oxana Jourkiv, MD provides diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy and psychopharmacology services for children, adolecents and adults. her unique experience and interests include working with patients with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, affective disorders and anxiety.

Dr. Jourkiv attended medical school in Kiev, Ukraine at the Ukranian National Medical University and graduated in 1994 with a Medical Degree specializing in Pediatics. She completed her Adult Psychiatric Residency Training Program at St. Elizabeth's Hospital and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship program at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Dr. Jourkiv also completed a fellowship at Baltimore-Washington Institute for Psychoanalysis and was part of the clinical research group Genetic Branch at the Naval National Medical Breast Care Center.

She is fluent in English, Ukranian and Russian. Dr. Joukiv has been working with CFCG for 2 1/2 years in clinical practice.

Stacy Paggi, M.D.

Stacy Paggi specializes in Child and Adolescent psychiatry. She is originally from New York , where she received a degree in Psychology and Biology from Binghamton University, and later, her Medical degree from Upstate Medical University. She moved to Northern Virginia for her Adult Psychiatry Training at Georgetown University Hospital in 2001. She graduated from her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship from Children’s National Medical Center and began working at CFCG in June 2006. She currently lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and two young children.

Dr. Paggi provides outpatient care in the form of diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy, and psychopharmacology services for people from birth to middle age. She has special experience in working with anxiety disorders, affective disorders, behavioral problems, autistic spectrum disorders, and eating disorders. She has a particular interest in early intervention mental health with experience in treating toddlers and preschoolers, as well as depressed or anxious mothers and mothers-to-be. Dr. Paggi specializes in psychotherapy with teenage and young adult woman.

Peter Robbins, MD

Medical Director

Dr. Robbins received a B.A. in Psychology from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. He attended medical school at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons, graduating in 1982. He completed both a Residency in Adult Psychiatry and a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center, Westchester Division, in White Plains, N.Y. and in Manhattan from 1982 to 1987. He moved to Northern Virginia in 1987.

He has worked in In-Patient settings as an attending psychiatrist, as the Director of an Adolescent Day Treatment Program (American Day Treatment), and in Out-Patient settings since then. He is currently only doing outpatient care.

He refers to Fairfax Hospital, Dominion Hospital, and Children's Hospital National Medical Center for patients who are in need of inpatient treatment. He refers to both The Kellar Center and to Dominion Hospital's Day Treatment Programs for patients in need of partial hospitalization or day treatment.

Rongrong Tao, MD, PhD

Dr. Rongrong Tao provides diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy and psychopharmacology services for children, adolescents and young adults. She has special experience and interests in working with patients with mood and anxiety disorders, as well as attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD).

Dr. Tao received her medical degree from Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University in Shanghai, China. She received her PhD in developmental psychology at the University of Texas at Dallas in 1998. She completed her training in adult psychiatry and her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Michigan Health Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2004.

She moved back to Dallas, Texas after her residency and fellowship training in 2004 where she was on the faculty of University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in the Department of Psychiatry, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She taught medical students, residents and child psychiatry fellows and did neuroscience and treatment research in pediatric bipolar, depression and ADHD, as well as running the Depression and Anxiety Clinic at the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.

She moved to northern Virginia in 2012 and has been an attending physician in the Department of Psychiatry at Georgetown University Hospital (GUH). She is the medical director of the Pediatric Mood and Anxiety Disorders Clinic and attending on the Pediatric Consultation Liaison service at GUH. She teaches child and adolescent psychiatry fellows, general residents and medical students in the Georgetown Medical School.

Dr. Tao is fluent in English and Chinese and she is available Tuesday and Friday mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
