Lisa A. Horowitz, J.D., Ph.D.

Child, adolescent and adult psychotherapy; family and group psychotherapy; psychological testing with specialization in assessment of learning, behavioral and emotional disorders, educational interventions and parent guidance.  Special interest include mood, anxiety and self-esteem problems; parental conflict, separation and divorce.

Dr. Horowitz received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Catholic University of America and her Juris Doctor from The University of Michigan. She has worked at a private school for children with learning disabilities, providing individual and group psychotherapy, psychological assessments, and consultations with parents, staff, and other professionals. Dr. Horowitz has also received additional training in neuropsychological assessment of children and adults. As an attorney, she has advocated for children in special education proceedings and has represented children and parents in juvenile and family court cases (Dr. Horowitz is not currently an active member ofthe bar). Dr. Horowitz is licensed as a psychologist in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
