OXANA JOURKIV, M.D.

Dr. Jourkiv attended medical school at Ukrainian National Medical University in Kiev , Ukraine . She graduated in 1994 with a Medical Degree specializing in Pediatrics. She has completed her Adult Psychiatric Residency Training Program at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and is in the process of graduating in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC . She completed her fellowship at Baltimore-Washington Institute for Psychoanalysis.

Dr. Jourkiv was part of the Genetic Branch clinical research group at the Breast Care Center of the Naval National Medical Center , where she studied Susceptibility to Breast Cancer and Methods in Education for Breast Cancer Genetics.

Dr. Jourkiv provides diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy and psychopharmacology services for children, adolescents, and adults.  Her unique experience and interest is in working with patients with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Affective Disorders, and Anxiety. 

She uses a variety of therapeutic modalities, including play therapy and integrating different forms of therapy to include sand box, art, and cognitive behavioral techniques.

She is fluent in English, Ukrainian and Russian.
