While we are not providers with any insurance plans we will assist you in providing any necessary documentation your plan may require for reimbursement.
Please be sure to contact your health insurance provider prior to coming in for your first appointment. Many insurance companies require pre-authorization for mental health benefits, especially if you are scheduled to see someone who is out of network. Failure to contact your insurance company may significantly reduce your benefits.
Pharmaceutical Industry Relationships
We want you to know about our relationship with the pharmaceutical industry. There are four physicians in our office who prescribe medication for children, adolescents and adults. The physicians at Child and Family Counseling Group meet from time to time with various representatives from the pharmaceutical and treatment device industries. Usually that is done over an informal lunch provided by the representative. During that meeting the doctors discuss their experience and review literature regarding indications and side-effects of treatments. Often they also receive samples, starter packs and medication discount cards which we can then supply to our patients
The psychiatrists here do participate at times in giving industry supported talks and/or participate in pharmaceutical industry supported research. Please feel free to discuss this with your physician if you have any concerns about it.
We want the process of making recommendations regarding medication and treatment to be as free from outside influences as possible. We also want those recommendations to be up-to-date and evidence-based. Individual treatment options and decisions are based solely on clinical judgment.
We ask that you pay at the time of your visit unless other arrangements are made with your therapist. Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card. We accept Visa or Mastercard. Checks should be made payable to the Child and Family Counseling Group or CFCG.
In the event your account carries a balance, statements will be sent out approximately on the 5th of each month.
If you need to cancel an appointment, we ask that you contact the office at least 24 hours in advance to be released from your financial responsibility for the visit. Please consult with your individual therapist about their cancellation policy.
For Prescription Refills
Please call your pharmacy to request refills which are NOT controlled medications. If you have refills remaining on your prescription, your pharmacist will fill your prescription without contacting the doctor. If you do not have any refills remaining, please request that the pharmacist fax a request to your doctor. This is already standard procedure for most pharmacies. Our secure fax number is (703) 385-8353.
Controlled medications include: Adderall, Concerta, Dexedrine, Focalin, Metadate, and Ritalin. These medications require a written prescription from your doctor every month. Please contact the front desk (703) 352-3822 ext. 1 and leave a message for Dr. Clayton, Dr. Jourkiv, Dr. Paggi, Dr. Tao or Dr. Robbins requesting a refill for your controlled medication. Remember to leave your daytime phone number so that we may contact you when the prescription is ready to pick up.
Mail away prescriptions (Merck Medco and Anthem RX) should be requested at the time of your scheduled appointment.
Changes in Patient Information
If you are a current patient please inform us of any address, phone number, or insurance changes so that we may better serve you.
If you have waited longer than 5 minutes after your scheduled appointment time please check in with our secretary. Occasionally circumstances arise that cause this to happen and we ask for your patience.
