Behavior Therapy

What is Behavior Therapy?

Behavioral therapy is an effective form of intervention for many behavioral and emotional problems. It takes place in the home, school, or community. The aim is to modify a person’s behavior to change the frequency, severity and intensity of behaviors. Ideally, we provide modeled interventions for the family as necessary tools to continue the plan and modify behavior on an ongoing basis.

Behavioral therapy at CFCG will begin with observations in the home. We identify and notate target behaviors, and factors that influence the behavior. Then, we provide observations to the treatment team who will design an individualized behavior intervention plan to modify the behavior. The behaviorist will assist parents or others in the home to implement the plan by modeling, reinforcing, and providing feedback.
