Dr. Jessica Hunter is a licensed clinical psychologist in both Virginia and California. She earned her undergraduate and Master’s degrees from Boston University, followed by a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University. She is a member of the National Registry of Health Service Providers in Psychology and holds certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, an attachment-based intervention.
With over eight years of experience working with individuals with chronic mental health conditions, Dr. Hunter has served in roles involving program management, adult individual and group psychotherapy, and community outreach. She currently provides psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, and older adults through individual, couples, family, and group therapy.
Dr. Hunter’s therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, tailored to each client’s needs in a collaborative and supportive environment. Her clinical experience spans work with autistic children, college-aged students, and older adults, with a specialized focus on:
- Life transitions and relationship challenges
- Grief and loss
- Marital therapy
- Anxiety disorders
- Adolescent identity development
- Parental guidance
- Chronic mental health conditions
She also administers psychological testing, specializing in ADHD and executive functioning assessments that impact academic performance and daily life.

Dr. Hunter is available for virtual sessions and limited in-person appointments. Her typical hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 AM to 8 PM, with some flexibility.
