Dr. Rongrong Tao received her medical degree from Shanghai Medical University in Shanghai, China. She received her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology at the University of Texas in 1998. She completed her training in Adult Psychiatry and her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Health Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2004.
After her residency and fellowship training in 2004, she moved back to Dallas, Texas where she was on the faculty of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in the Department of Psychiatry, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She taught medical students, residents and child psychiatry fellows and did Neuroscience and treatment research in Pediatric Bipolar, Depression and ADHD, as well as running the Depression and Anxiety Clinic at the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
In 2012, Dr. Tao moved to Northern Virginia to practice as an attending physician in the Department of Psychiatry at Georgetown University Hospital (GUH). She then became Medical Director of the Pediatric Mood and Anxiety Disorders Clinic and attending on the Pediatric Consultation Liaison service at GUH. In this time, she gained another opportunity to educate and taught child and adolescent psychiatry fellows, general residents and medical students in the Georgetown Medical School.
In 2013, Dr. Rongrong Tao joined Child and Family Counseling Group. She provides Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluations, Psychotherapy and medication treatment for children, adolescents, and young adults. She has special experience and interests in working with patients with Mood and Anxiety Disorders, as well as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD).
