Spravato

The Child and Family Counseling Group is now offering Spravato!

What is Spravato?

It is esketamine (S-enantiomer of racemic ketamine) is a nonselective, noncompetitive N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist. The mechanism by which it exerts its antidepressant effect is unknown. The major circulating metabolite noresketamine demonstrated activity at the same receptor with less affinity. Esketamine SPRAVATO™ is the first nasal spray approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat depression in adults who have not found relief with other antidepressants.
